Tuesday Art ATTACK- Andrew Wyeth “Young American”
Andrew Wyeth is one of the most renowned artists of the last century, winning the National Medal of Arts in 2007. We will end our Wyeth family series on the most famous of the bunch. Andrew Wyeth was part of the Brandywine school of art like his father and son. He was an American realist, that focused his work on Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. He captured images of everyday life in the region. This wonderful work was painted in 1950 on gessoed board using egg tempera. How cool is the red white and blue fox tail!
