Tuesday Art ATTACK- Edward Biberman “C.B.S.”
Los Angeles based artist Edward Biberman was born in Philadelpa, Pennslyvaia in 1904. Biberman is known for his diverse work that helped capture Los Angeles during his lifetime. He was well-known for his portraits, landscapes, and murals. He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and three years abroad in Europe. Before moving to Los Angeles Biberman painted landscapes in New York. It was not until 1937 that he moved to Los Angeles, following his well-known brother movie director Herbert Biberman. In Los Angeles Biberman's art came into his own. He became very well known for his flat shapes and clean lines. This painting is titled "C.B.S.” and was done in acrylic in the mid-1940s. Biberman passed away in 1986.
