Tuesday Art ATTACK- Samuel Wood Gaylor "The Arts Ball"
American artist Samuel Wood Gaylor was born in Stamford, Connecticut in 1883. Gaylor studied art at the National Academy of Design, New York and studied under artist Walt Kuhn. He exhibited his work at the Armory Show, the Penguin Club, and with art organizations like the Kit-Kat Club. Gaylor a classically trained artist was know for his Folk Art Primitive style. "The Arts Ball" was painted in 1918 in oil. Gaylor passed away in 1957.
